Design thinker by day, volleyball enthusiast by weekend. I’m passionate about crafting meaningful, user-friendly experiences and asking the right questions! Design reminds me of volleyball, both take practice, teamwork, and the persistence to keep going until something clicks. Even when something doesn’t work, you regroup, learn from it, and come back stronger with a better approach.

My journey

I was born in… naaah, we haven’t got that much time. Let’s skip to the good part: my design journey began with an Access to Art & Design course in Swansea, Wales. It was a bit of everything, art history, photography, ceramics, life drawing, and, yes, graphic design. That sparked something in me, so I followed it through with a BA in Graphic Design.

A few years later, my journey took a sunnier turn and I moved to Madrid and spent three years teaching English as a second language. I learnt about Spanish culture, picked up a bit of the language, and developed some serious soft skills. Teaching kids aged between 3–12 taught me patience, how to communicate clearly, and perhaps most importantly how to make grammar fun. (Pro tip: if a child is bored, they will absolutely let you know.)

Having lived in three different countries, adaptability has become second nature. I genuinely love getting to know people, and people often feel comfortable opening up to me, something that’s been incredibly useful for user research and collaboration.

When I discovered UX design, it felt like everything clicked. It combined my passion for creativity with the challenge of solving real problems. I completed an online UX design course Design Thinking: The Ultimate Guide (great course!) and immediately dove into my first project: re-designing a bridal website.

Soon after, I was hired as a Project Officer at a non-profit organisation, where I became a bit of a design multitool, ready to click into whatever was needed. I had to learn fast and wear many hats. The role required adaptability and quick learning, involving contributions to UX research, graphic design, social media planning, website updates, and e-learning course creation. I supported webinar delivery and presentations, both behind the scenes and as a speaker, and was involved in analysing data and producing engaging PowerPoint materials. Working in a small, dynamic team meant collaborating across tasks from supporting entrepreneurship training to helping plan events, gaining valuable experience in both soft skills and practical tools along the way.

Now, I’m ready for the next chapter. I’m looking for opportunities where I can fully immerse myself in creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. I’m endlessly curious about what makes a great design from the laws of UX (hello, Law of Prägnanz!) to colour theory, hierarchy, and user psychology.
